Beginner Golf Tips
Golf entails a lot of training and practice compared with other sports. You have to learn how to use yourdesigner golf gear, make sure you find a place for golf clubs training and very importantly choose the proper golf footwear. Being the sport it is, golf isn’t so easy so here are a few sugesstions for newbies:
* Choose well- to begin with, you must pick your first set of clubs. Golf is known to be a costly game and golf gear can go for thousands of dollars. Keep away from the latest golf gear as a newbie. What would happen if you don’t do well in the sport and decide golf isn’t really for you? A lot of money gone to waste! Good news is many of the high quality brands like Wilson, Dunlop, Ram, Knight do have very affordable clubs available at a bargain price.
Another place to find affordable clubs is at garage sales. Seasoned golfers usually replace their gear so you would be able to find some cheap high quality clubs.
The general rule before purchasing is remember you are just starting out so this isn’t the time to overspend. Make sure you’ll stay long term with the game before you decide on getting more costly clubs.
*Get to know the game- once you know the rules, get some lessons. Enrolling in a golf school would be great for those who have money. It’s a faster way to learn. For those with a smaller budget, getting lessons from pro golfers at the club would be best.
* Get some practice- for starters, your backyard would be a good place to throw balls in a bucket. You won’t have to worry about shooting bad and can practice your swing better. For practicing your putting, the living room would be great.
Again those who can afford may go to one of the golf clubs that have a ‘training ground’ for beginners to practice their shots.
* Play- once you’re comfortable with your swings and think you can play with a few people watching you without making a fool of yourself, find a place to play. Don’t settle for any green lawn but find a course with all the holes and flags.
Try out the Par 3 courss instead of the normal full sized ones since these are shorter. Courses that don’t have many people are a better idea since you probably would be making many bad shots and you wouldn’t want any ‘boos’.
