It’s one thing to come back from a vacation with good memories, but its’ better to come know remembering clearly you didn’t do so bad yourself. Here are some guidelines you do on your own. You only need a mirror.
Scotland Golf Holiday -Your image doesn’t lie – the use of a mirror
Get a good golf mat and lay it in front of a mirror. If you have a carpeted floor, then you only need a mirror. Should you want to practice alone, or if the local golf range is closed due to snow or heavy rains, you can practice with a mirror in your own home.
A high-ceilinged room is often recommended for this. Bring a six-iron or the club of your choice. Your reflection will provide you with a watcher’s perspective on how you swing and set up. This is probably the fastest way to practice, in private, for your Scotland golf holiday.
Scotland Golf Holiday -Fundamentals
The importance of your grip. Watch some golf, or some online videos, and see if you can grip the clubs as you see them. Match them with your mirror image of your grip.
Check your stance. Make sure your feet are spread wider than your shoulder width, with your left foot open by 20 degrees (if you’re right handed). Be sure to spread your balance evenly, on both feet.
The ball position is vital. Lean a bit forward with your club in the middle of your stance.
Check your posture. Your back and your legs must be aligned in a V, with the pointing edge being your back. Your behind should jut out a bit and your knees slightly bent. Your arms should hang with no tension, with your weight on each foot distributed in the mid. Your spine shouldn’t move much when you swing.
Swing it. Face the mirror and take a couple of swings, without breaking anything of course. Go over these pre-swing checks each time you doubt what you’re doing. On each swing, maintain the same grip and tension. Just ten minutes a day worth of practice with these drills and you’ll be on a good start for your Scotland golf holiday.
Scotland Golf Holiday -Be sure to remember these tips as you pack for your Scotland golf holiday. One advantage with these tips is that you can improve your stroke even without your golfing colleagues knowing about all the time you’ve put into practice. No time on the range involved, and no personal trainer to pay for.
